Loft — Paris 6ème
“In this project, the interior designer’s steps are guided by voids.”
A "house in the sky", which unfolds on the last four levels of an 18th century building, on the left bank in Paris.
It is about finding a way to delicately articulate these spaces to each other to maintain fluidity. By weaving, superimposing the points of view and perspectives, we allow the eye to wander, to escape in complete freedom.
The universes overlap, away from codes and conventions. On the first level, a bedroom and its bathroom, the double living room and the kitchen. No dining room but a dining area in the kitchen designed in a refined Japanese spirit. Upstairs, a large gallery is overlooked by a mezzanine which is accessed by a staircase whose waxed and blackened steel steps seem to float. The universes follow one another in such a way as to delicately change the atmosphere with each room change.
On the top floor, the bathroom becomes a true living space with its circular bathtub inspired by onsen (Japanese baths) and its relaxation area. With its imposing volumes and its extraordinary luminosity, this room becomes a place of soothing rest.
