Appartment Roppongi — Tokyo
“This concept exemplifies the way in which architect Elliott Barnes masterfully captures the Genius Loci—the spirit of the place—in his work, blending the natural world with refined interior design.”
Tucked away in a small, densely wooded area of Roppongi, along a quiet road, sits an elegant duplex apartment. The design concept for this project draws inspiration from its surrounding landscape, particularly the beauty of autumn leaves.
Upon entering the apartment, the concept is immediately brought to life by a bespoke sculpture of autumn-colored glass leaves, suspended gracefully from the ceiling. As one moves through the rooms of the apartment, reinterpretations of this theme, and a broader connection to nature, are thoughtfully introduced.
