La Manufacture de Cogolin — Collection Personnalités

Conti, the cornerstone of the Personnalités collection, was originally custom designed for the 2017 edition of the Paris AD Intérieurs exhibition at La Monnaie de Paris. Drawing inspiration from the architectural details of La Monnaie's façade, the rug evokes the form of a large gold coin—a nod to the institution’s historic role as a coin minter since 864.
From this initial creation, the collection evolved into a series of variations, characterized by simplifications and reductions. This process gradually evolved the Conti rug into a fully abstract design, distilled to its essence. The resulting minimalism, with its refined lines, recalls the work of artist Théo van Doesburg and the De Stijl movement.
Simultaneously classic and contemporary, the five rugs of the Personnalités collection mark a new chapter in the catalogue of La Manufacture de Cogolin. The collection celebrates the richness of textures and patterns, honoring the time-honored craftsmanship and exceptional savoir-faire of the brand.
