Delisle — Collection Poinciana

Sometimes, a collection appears out of nowhere, in a place or during an exchange between two enthusiasts. Thus begins the story of Poinciana.
There were meetings in the Marais town house, whose walls bear witness to the evolution of the Maison Delisle, an art bronzer for 5 generations. In its workshop near the capital, France's finest craftsmen perpetuate the secrets of an old-fashioned trade still in great demand. It was through contact with these chiselers, designers and assemblers, gathered in the Montreuil workshops, that the structure and idea of the collection were born.
By extracting the small wooden shapes from punch handles and riffler blades, which sink into the craftsmen's palms and thus give life to metal and stone, the big notes appear that will enable the creation of objects for lighting and furnishing space.
A surprising French phonetic link between a seminalistic work by the great pianist Ahmad Jamal and a “poinçon” has given a new dimension to this small wooden form, which has become a luminous element in alabaster.
