Christofle — Collection Dellipse

Recalling the beauty of that moment when Champagne sparkles as it is poured into a flute, a connection emerged between a form in polished sterling silver and the brief twisting scintillating flow of this unique wine.
The search for a form began by bringing together the two C’s (Christofle and Champagne) to create an oval. This two-dimensional form was then extruded, and twisted, an inspiration taken from the motion used to finish the serving of champagne.
The resulting shape, expressed in polished sterling silver, reflects light and the surrounding environment to provide a constantly changing, almost fluid appearance. Dellipse is a collection of works that comes to life, when viewed in the round. That is, as one views the works from different positions, seemingly new forms seem to emerge.
Dellipse exists in three moments. The first is a Champagne Vasque, the second a Champagne bucket and the third a Champagne Sabre; the ultimate festive object used to open a bottle of champagne.
Dellipse embodies a certain “joie de vivre”. The conversation between form, material and light evokes the unencumbered elegance and simplicity of the champagne experience.
